Assessment visits are most often covered by insurance or may be paid out of pocket. The process takes about 60-90 minutes. Assessment determines or rules out the presence of a substance use disorder and includes screening for co-occurring mental health disorders. Assessment findings may include obtaining collateral information from other sources when there is a release of information. It includes a Breathalyzer and urine drug screen. Individuals that need a level of care not offered at ACBC can be referred.
Impaired driver assessments are for individuals who have received a driving related offense. If you are planning to come to ACBC for an impaired driver assessment, please bring with you a copy of your driver's abstract and a copy of the police report from the incident. The assessment will include an 80-hour test for the presence of alcohol and signing releases for a family member or friend.
